Artist: Perry S. Buchalter 2003 Collection: Wai & Naome Seumalo This is the fifteenth painting in this natures gifts series
and was done as a gift for Wai and his family. The symbolism in this picture
represents his family and his love for diving, the ocean, and music. The
triangular structure of this painting represents the trinity for the faith
that Wai carries with him, the structure for their family. The wave is
on the guitar because this is where Wai rips. He is a free diver and goes
deep, as depicted in the center of the painting. The sunrise over tropical
landscape, lush with banana and Kalo, symbolizes the family's Samoan lineage
with four coconut trees, one each for wai, his wife, his daughter, and
son. Paintings,
