I enjoy creating work for people based on their hobbies,
personal interests, and inspiration's. Information is organized into a
composition that reflects the person/s the painting is done for. I enjoy
working on different genre and styles. My "Natures Gifts" series
incorporates land, sea, and sky with an intermingling of flora, musical
instruments, waves, and waterfalls to capture and share what we love in
a tropical escape.
My wife and I are teachers on the island of Molokai. I paint primarily
with oils in my home studio. I use acrylic, watercolor, colored pencil,
and oil pastel in the classroom with my drawing and painting classes.
I find time to practice what I teach and enjoy sharing my work. Paintings
may be created to your specifications. If you see something you like or
have something in mind, let me know. ppjb@wave.hicv.net
My
niece commissioned this as a wedding gift for her friends. The information
I was given for the painting is: he proposed on Rainbow Bridge in Obaida
Japan, they wanted killer whales, an ukulele with plumeria and maile,
cherry blossom trees, and sandy beach on Oahu. I researched the images
I organized the composition to create the yin and yang of warm and cool
colors.
This painting was commissioned by my brother-in-law Moses
for his wife Karen. He wanted one of my landscapes
of Dixie Maru for a wall above their piano.
This painting was done for my brother-in-law and his wife.
It is based on a conversation I was having with their 10 year old son
about symbolism; he thought of Ohia trees for his dad and the mountains
for his mom because of memories he had about them. His brothers mean red
because there is always some kind of action, this also represents the
chinese blood on the mothers side and the pa'u drum
represents their Hawaiian blood. The three flowers are for the three boys
and fishing, divind, surfing, and the guitar representative of family
activities.
